Best deal suspension place

Post by britincali »

Seeing as im completly crippled for the summer im gonna tear down the AF and replace linkage bearings and redo my leaky forks and shock. Hell I might even put rings in it....

I know the bushes in my forks have got to be thrashed as I had them resealed last year and they are already leaking, chrome looks good and they dont seem bent.

For the first time ever I think im actually gonna spend some cash and get it done right for my weight and useless riding style.

Where do I sent my forks/shock to? They are stiff as shit now and even with the clickers backed all the way off are still harsh as fuk.

I dont wanna get fuked out of a ton of cash for some seals and a cool sticker...

Gee, why not do it yourself and save the cash?
I've got Race Tech in mine.
There's so much detailed info on everything else on this forum why should suspension be any different?
You can do it! Ya know......waterboy?

Do you have the right springs for your weight, speed and riding? If not, shell out for those - Racetech, Eibach, FC or whatever - and do a rebuild yourself. Then decide if you want to layout the extra $$$ for re-valving later.

dude, call MFDB and talk to him about it, he has revalved like 5 bikes with racetech gold valves and they all turned out really nice. He knows the guys at racetech well enough to get some good tips from them. You'll save a ton, I think you could do everything with goldvalves and springs for liek $300, if you send them out for the full treatment, you're probably looking at like $800-$1000.
I'm going to do goldvalves when I can scrape up some extra cash.

Talk to Dewayne Jones 909-626-2751. Does great work - just a tad narcissistic. ;)

dude, suspension is so easy, a couple basic specialty tools, a clean work space and like an hour of time.

well, I give brit 5 hours, 3 spend BSing, downing a 12-pack and sparking a J, then 2 since it will take him twice as long from being so f-ed up

I would do it for you if you lived closer. Surely another hoon closeby can do it for you. It's really nothing to it. I just did 2 CR250's last week.
I did buy some tools that make the job easier but, that's money saved from the labor part and I have the tools now. I haven't done the shocks yet but that's next. Dialed in suspension is more important than horsepower mods imop.
