96 Refresh Has Started!

Post by WVCR500 »

I am the 2nd owner of my 96 Steelie and I have owned the bike for 12 years...it has been ridden very little over the last 8-10 years, but it is definitely due for a refresh. It still has the original bearings (all of them) and the same clutch it had in it when I bought it in the late 90s.

I should have posted some before pictures...but the bike is completely apart now, the frame is getting powdercoated (should have it back on Friday), the cylinder is boxed up and ready to ship to Glen @ GSS, and I have 3 boxes full of goodies to start the process. Here is the plan....

Frame Powdercoated White
New Plastics and Graphics
Fresh Top End/Gaskets
New PC Works Pipe (Have Pro Circuit Platinum, but it has some dents and the finish looks like crap)
Boyeson Clutch and Ignition Covers
New Clutch and Hinson Clutch Basket
Front/Rear Suspension Rebuild
New Wide Pegs
New X-Ring Chain and Sprockets
New Brakes
New Brake Lines
New Clutch and Throttle Cables
New Seals/Bearings/Fasteners as Needed
New Renthal Bars/Grips
New Chain Guides/Rollers
and Lots of Bel Ray Waterproof Grease

I am a newbie to the site...now I just need to figure out how to post pictures.
