Rear shock bearing

Post by tadiv »

OK, I have a 94 bike and getting ready to put a 95 shock into it. I was going to get these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 4584799852

but they say they are for a 94 ONLY. Will they work? What is the difference?

I asked the seller and they said "I think you'll need the 94 , so it will fit in the 94 linkage" (Not a very definitive answer!)

If I remember correctly the '95 has its own shock and linkage that is different from '94 and older and '96 and newer.

Hmmmm, so if the top bearing is the same on the 2 I would need the 94 kit to fit the linkage.

If the bottom is the same bearing I would need the 95 kit to fit the top of the shock.

If they are both different I am hosed and need to buy 2 kits!

Sound about right?

The 94 linkage is unto itself. The engineers at Honda went a little to far in 94 and settled for half the distance/length from 95 on.

89-93 same
95-01 same

I would imagine the shock it self would work, just make sure the sag is set correctly with the right spring rate.

Goto www.mrcycles.com or www.bikebandit.com and cross ref the part #s for 94 and 95. If there the same get'em.
