Fastest build yet-90 cr500

Post by kball1313 »

So as usual I waited too long to build my bike for the trip to the dunes. I had the bare frame painted, and in 4 long nights, assembled the engine with a new crank and top end, stainless hardware kit-thanks to Roosty (who I still owe for that and the trans bearings)

Rebuilt the 01 forks and rear susp. bearings. 01 shock, desert tank, old school FMF Fatty, 12 paddle skat trak. It's the perfect recipe for a swet ride in the sand.

Engine is all fresh-millar's bolt kit is sweet looking and makes 3HP

The frame paint was a last minute decision and the paint barely had time to dry

Engine and cooling system in and tight

Almost there, about 40 beers into it-up till 4am 4 nights in a row

Shake down run at the place i've been riding since I was a kid-not too sure why the tire looks like it's moving

Thanks guys. Going to the dunes is something we talk about all year until the next time we get to go. Sadly, that's the last time that bike has been used.

WHOA!!!! DID YOU SAY YOU PUT A 01 REAR SHOCK IN A 90 FRAME???
or did you mean rebuilt the 01 forks and rebuilt the 90 rear shock?
if youve used a 01 shock in a 90 frame, your ride height and geometry will be all out of wack unless you redrill the shock lower mount.
do it!... cos if you dont, youll spend the rest of your life thinking about it anyway!
