Dumb question

Post by Roostmaster »

When they say the triple clamp has a 22mm off set, what exactly does it refer to?

Cheers
I have been to the top of the mountain and yes it is good.

Righto, so when they mention 22mm off set, this will mean the forks will be better for high speed stability & less responsive to tight corner steering - or even head shake for that matter?

depends on what your stock offset is. For instance, just put some 22 off a 08 crf450 onto my gen2 which had a 24 offset stock. Pretty sure that makes it turn better at the expense of stability. All I had to do was change the number plate.

More offset equals more stability, slower turning.

Less offset, equals faster turning at the expensive of stability...

Some people will noticed 1mm (I did) but most will only notice 2mm or more which is why most triples are minus 2mm or more...
