on my gen-4 I put it right above the head above the Y, very OEM like.

I made 2 peices about 1" long out of 1/4" plate and drilled and tapped holes, then welded those. I'd show you a pic, but my hosting space got all f-ed up. It was essentiallt like the oem mount and loaction, only higher up.

I'm assuming you never did plumb the spars?
I would like to do something like that to my bike, but add a valve so they would be a switchable reserve so i knew when fuel was getting low.

a fair share of those were mine trying to find what spacers you used. So I guess I should ask: What spacers did you end up using for the rear?

Its in there.... you flip one side to side, and go buy one from a cr250.....

the '02+ cr125s have a 59mm and a 54mm bushing. you want to buy the 59mm and use your existing 54mm, just move the 54 to the other side.

The CR250 must use the same sleeve, as thats what I used

OK this might save some confusion when stuffing a CR500 engine into these frames.

The Std CRF250 04-09 uses a 49mm on the left and a 59mm on the right, with the CR500 engine get a 54mm for the left side and you are done.

The Std CRF450 02-04 uses a 49mm on the left and a 54 on the right, with the CR500 engine swap right to left and get a 59mm for the right side and you are done

The Std CRF450 05-09 uses a 46mm on the left and a 54mm on the right, with the CR500 engine swap right to left and get a 59mm for the right side and you are done.

The Std CR125 02-07 uses a 54mm on the left and a 59mm on the right, with the CR500 engine you are good to go as is.

The Std CR250 02-07 uses a 49mm on the left and a 54mm on the right, with the CR500 engine swap right to left and get a 59mm for the right side and you are done.

Part# for the 54mm bush is 52142-KZ4-J40, left side of swingarm.

Part# for the 59mm bush is 52141-KZ4-J40, right side of swingarm.

If any of this is incorrect, please let me know so I can change it before any mistakes are made.

Is this something that needs to be done when converting all CRF bikes? Or, did you do this because of an "oversized" spring?

I didn't have to on any of my conversions. I think thats just for the fatty spring.

My 2004 CR250 conversion did not require this. I was running a 5.4 spring too . Maybe I got lucky ? ? ?

I didn't have to do it on the '04 SH 500AF (CR250 based) I had but it was close. If I went with a heavier spring, I feel like it would have needed it.

Just check it when you get to that point. If it needs it, it needs it. No big deal.
