Ok, I know what they do, but I have been unable to locate a tech article or tutorial on HOW they mechanically do it. Anyone?

I have one in my Meth bike and in the 500 you can only cut the 1st 3 gears 4th & 5th run the other direction so I am told by the guy that built mine Port Majic , he builds alot of the sand drag stuff for the pros ATV.
the tranny can shift through the gears with out leting off the throttal under a full load just hold it open and bang away. only up to 3rd gear 4 & 5 you eather need to pull the clutch in or use an electric cut out switch to unload the motor to shift without using the clutch.
I dont remember what the tranny cost me but it wasent to bad, the electric shifter was like $650 or around there I still havent opened the box its sitting on a shelf in the shop.
to answer your question Ruddy showed me what he did and whats needed to cut but it was so long ago I dont remember
you can not have back pressure on the tranny with a override like transmission brakeing because it will bend the shifting fork
which I probably did out at pismo slaming it into gear when it ran away on me

As long as you didnt break the gears, you should be ok with just a few shift forks. Those are a lot cheaper than cases!
