Oncve you've got it all nice and pruuuudy,
use a silicon spray, the automotive 1's are pricey but a good furniture polish silicon based spray works just as good...i use Mr sheen here in Australia...not sure if you get that in your neck of the woods, but make sure all your graphics are on 1's or it's a real prick to get them to stick to your siliconed parts.
On my GSXR-600 race bike we use Mr sheen exclusivly to kleen...chain lube just wipes off your wheels, case's, bugs wipe off like nothing to.
She's looking good....yes and you to Mama.

I used pc racings plastic renew on several bikes. it does not look factory fresh but takes away scratches and discoloration and makes the bike shiny too. it is a ton of work but totaly worth it. the more you sand and buff the better the final product. it's like 20 bucks for the kit and you can do seveal bikes with it.

i had a 01 cr500. i got pretty sick of trying to keep that tank white so i picked up a seat, tank and shrouds of a 90 model for 150.
red is much easier to keep clean and love a red honda anyday. i even picked up the swing arm decals off fleabay for $12
do it!... cos if you dont, youll spend the rest of your life thinking about it anyway!

ive got the origional front gaurd but i use this chopped down one in summer for better air flow. it gets so hot here and there really isnt much mud so there is no need for the full one.
during the wetter months, i bolt on the full front gaurd to keep the mud down.

lol, but yeah i tried everything with my white tank. even tried buffing it for 3 hours with cut n polishes. but as soon as i spilt fuel on it it would turn to shit again.
once those white tanks turn porus from too much sun and wear, they are hard to get back to good nic.
it takes constant effort. or switching tanks

yeah its a weight reduction thing that i started. ive taken everything off that bike that doesnt need to be there. number plates, trimmed gaurds, replaced hd tubes for light ones etc. managed to knock 3kgs off from when i got it. took 7.5 kgs off my xr600r too.
not everyones cup of tea but i got alot of spare time on my hands

So, yesterday I notice the bike feels lean winding out real fast and all. So we check it out today and one of the bolts that holds the reeds down is missing! So we tear the bike down and find some interesting things:
So my mechanic wanted me to photo her working on the problem. Couldn't do it with out her!:
Bikes ripping again! Checked the piston for cracks and such looks good! So my Dad visiting from Enumclaw took this next shot of me and Walter testing it out!:

Lucky it didn't seize up on you.
I gather the bolt broke and the top fell off somewhere, by the look of those other 3 they weren't far behind.
Good you got going without to much trouble, I hope you are paying your mechanic well. good hired help is hard to find.

Well the bolt broke and did not come loose, so the tension should be plenty.
