I couldn't bear the thought of no 500 hundy any more so I (or to be exact Mama) said fuck it we're getting another one, so found this 97 over near Seattle for 1600. I talked with him on the phone on the way over and when I got there gave $1300 for it. Not a bad deal.
My boy Walter is a picture hound and wouldn't let it go if I didn't get him in one too!

Well it happend again. I can't beleive it. I noticed when I was kicking it over earlier, it had one hell of alot of compression. I also noticed the throttle adjuster was backed way out on it. So without further ado, I pulled the carb and reed block and the fucking idiot put the piston in backwards! For those that don't know these bikes will run like this. They wont idle though, hence the throttle adjuster being adjusted all the way out. Doesn't matter what you do to the carb they wont idle. Fortunatly the cylinder doesnt look buggered up at all, but I'm going to have it checked to make sure, probly go for a bore job anyway. Fuckin "mechanics" LOL!

Is that a common thing to find? piston in backwards.
You just have to get atleast one picture with Walter in there, it just would not be right otherwise.
BTW bike looks great.

If I buy another CR500 I will have to keep that in mind.
I didn't think people could be that stupid, oh well.
Hopefully there is nothing else wrong with it though.

Its all good. For the price I'm not gonna bitch about at all plus fixing them is part of the fun. I think I am going to make it look more stock though. Don't care much for the black
