If no one gets it in a couple of days, I'll drop other hints. Nice scrub huh?

Here's another. One of the fastest desert racers I've ever seen.
Truly talented. Name him.

Very sad. Killed a few miles into the Baja 1000. It's talked about in "Dust to Glory". Kawasaki pulled out and only returned to the race this year.

He would have been the RC of desert racing no doubt.....didn't some dumb beaner off duty cop pull out on the course and kill him?

Yeah, I imagine the way the guy rode, he was standing up with the throttle pinned when the guy pulled out.
Kawasaki dominated the desert until that.
He was one of a very few who could unquestionably use every bit of power a 500 had.
There are athletes in life that I just love to watch because of the poetry in motion that they are.
He was one of them.

Jim Pomeroy was right but that's not John.
They're racing what they were famous for.
Check out the swingarm on the YZ.
You could say he was the "first" YZ rider ever.

Hannah?

Hannah was picking his nose on minibikes at the time.
His brother raced also and his father was the "father" of the YZ.

Jim Pomeroy - and not just because his name is in the filename of the jpeg file! I assume this is "Last Flag" because it was his last vintage race before his accident. He was a regular at vintage races here in SoCal and further afield. Awesome guy who is sorely missed.
