CR500: What engine mods to do?

My motor is completely stock, minus steel plates and H/D clutch springs. This will be its first rebuild since new and Im looking to pump it up quite a bit for the new class change in the hillclimb series I race (it will be cash instead of trophy). Last year I was running about a second to 2 seconds behind the top 10 which have modded motors. I have a list of what I want to do, and Im on a budget of about 1,000. Heres my list tell me what you guys think.

Vforce 3
port & polish
milled head
new OEM piston and rings
and If it needs it a new bottom end.

Its not that I dont want him to do the porting, I have another guy that will do it for alot cheaper and I know that his motors are competitive and FAST! Ive rode his. No offense to glenn in anyway

Problem with that is the classes they run where Im at is gas only. This is the first year of the "pro" money class, about the only thing different about bike setup is you can run a paddle now

A rider much better than me once told me to use fork bleed screws to plug-up my carb vent hoses. It helps keep dirt out of the carb.

If there was an issue with it he wouldn't be using it or recommending it to anyone...

Ok, everything you want to know is in these posts:

And, by the way, this place was built on garbage comments.

anyone who just mills heads instead of reshaping the chamber is someone who would not be porting my cylinder.

And we just polish the squish and quinch. We don't alter them HONDA knows more about squish and quinch than anybody on this planet. But some think they do and end up with piston hitting head.

Your motor, YOU built, YOU re-checked out after I aquired, YOUR machinework caused a half moon shape through 1/3 of the piston circumfrance 4 mm wide by 2mm deep.

Look close at the pic you keep posting of the piston from the intake port edge to 6 o'clock, right on the edge.

Glen please stop, for christs sake......

Bob delete this if you want, no hard feelings.

He sold the race motor all you got was a cylinder used,a used piston,a used head That's not a fullrace mtr. All second hand parts, there's more to it than that .He sold all the other parts.
It was most likly was there all the time as your friend said I only mill heads.May'be after the milling the second time it showed up .It ran good for 100 but after milling it showed up ,He's very handy with a grinder. And as I said you should have checked the piston head clearence,A extra base gasket most likly would have taken care of it .I understand you are still running the piston with the marks on it. You know it's very funny that you and 100 are the only ones I have had a complante of,I have done at least 150 cylinders, heads, and may'be 75 complete engines Before and after the engine I did for 100 and I have had no complante's as of this date. I still make you the offer if you will give me a good mailing address .a new head, piston, and gaskets will be on the way they've been boxed up ready to ship for over a month now. I would like to make you happy Chris. Glen

The piston used as an ashtray right next to me right now (the original one) has the exact same dent on the dome.

Im not mad about the motor glen im mad at you keep bringing it up and insinuating the contact is BS.......
