Are they threaded in. I'm thinking it may be easy to thread a 90 degree outlet in to them to clear my tank.

would it be possible to drill out stock nipples and, tap , and get 90* fittings , or machine off stock fitting and weld aluminum fittings or AN in place of the stock nipples.

It looks like the outlets are pressed in to me. That head is too pretty to start messing with. It would make life easier if the outlets were at the 6 and 9 o'clock position instead of 11 and 1 o'clock.

Yes that would be ideal, but on my build only one outlet needs to be used. Also another thing to consider: If using this head in a AF conversion, the tank will have to be pressed in more because this is taller / bigger overall than the OEM head. Thats why I delay in using it, because I could use it for my steelie or sell it....dunno yet

the WHOLE head is machined from a single chunk of aluminum........ the water outlets are part of the head.... not threaded in, not pressed in. :D

gosh those cool heads would be so much easier to tap for a decomp plug!

cool heads are for sure very easy for a decompression valve just drill and tap next to the plug.

I needed only one outlet for my drag quad so I plugged the one side and drill out the other to use a trx250r 90 degree fitting that are pressed in on the factory heads.
you can not buy these so you have to find a cheap 250r head and carefully remove it.
There is not allot of meat on the cool head for this but it just makes it.
I also spring center punch dimpled and jb weldeded it in a somewhat tight press fit hole with no problems.
