I think I'm going to convert my conversion and I going over what parts I am going to need. So far I have frame, subframe, tank, plastics, airbox, seat. I'm thinking I could make the rads fit, however CRF250 rads are plentiful. I don't know if the swingarm will fit also.

I think the CR and CRF swingarm will interchange. I measured a 09 250X yesterday, and the dimensions seem identical. The newer bikes have a more rounded edge on the swingarm, and a different chain guide. There are about 15 different part numbers for CR and CRF swingarms, even CR125 and CR250 have different part numbers. For every year each bike has up to four part numbers for the swingarm. 07 CR250 and 05 CRF250R share one of the same part numbers, and 07 CR125, and 07 CRF250X share one of their part numbers. I have an 04 CR125 swingarm here, and it weighs 3925g with the chain protector and bearings. I bet a new one is slightly lighter.

rumor is the new one is alot lighter, some dudes were swapping to the crf one for that reason. i also have a 03 450 swingarm, identical to my 03 250 with 3 different holes drilled to hold the brake hose. no talk of length changing? i can measure nicks 06 250f this week

speaking of swapping parts... Will the CRF style rad shrouds fit on a 03 CR tank. I am looking at a Gen 3 conversion but like the new style plastics better.

The bolt holes don't line up (look at how close the Gen 4 shroud bolts are on the tank) and the Gen 4 (CRF450R shown in pic, CRF250R is the same/similar) seperates at the tank and the tank buldges between them, while the Gen 3 is solid. IMO, you'd be better off trying to get a CRF250R tank to fit. No idea if it will.

The CRF shroud is much nicer looking IMO.
