it remindes me of a town in my city "port adelaide".
60s infrastructure and markets/industries that have collapsed due to a redundant market, leaving disused buildings, unemployment and a 1960s eyesore of an area.
our auto industries over here have been going through a hard time. we lost one of our big four "mitsubishi" two years ago due to lack of sales. the cars were great, cheap, relaible and had 5 year warranties. but lower priced imports(due to the reduction of tarrifs) made imported vehicles a more popular option.
with the introduction of chinese made, massivly cheaper vehicles around the corner, its only a matter of time before the other three,gmh,ford and toyota meet a similar fate.but without government intervention, they would of already gone 5 years ago.
