i am looking to do a gen 1 converson, anyone still sell the diy kits?
I searched for info on the pipe, can you make a standard aftermarket pupe for the 91- 500 work? is it just moving the rare mount? also, what is the difference in the earlier (85-88) motrors and the later ones?

You can make the standard pipe work no problem. I'm not that familiar with the Gen I, but you might have to modify the rear mount a bit. If you use the old style motor, the coolant hose interferes with the pipe a bit, and I think the intake hits it also. You are better off with an 89+ motor.

the 85-88 log reed engine hits a 89-01 style fatty for sure, and to sneak a gnarly into a gen4 past it you need a new dent

Asteroid,where you gettting the front engine mounts from ? I could do with a set.

So do you race enduros up around Darwin/Adelaide River ? Done a couple out there about 13 years ago on a 93 CR 500. Even beat AJ,although he was on a KX 100 and he was just a kid ha ha.
