Removing Head Studs?

What's the answer to get them out? Lots of heat? I'm just using a heat gun now, but my next step is propane. I double nutting them but the nuts just turn on the thread.

Try heating the stud/area around the stud with a propane torch, spray some PB Blaster into the hole for the stud, let it soak for a while, give it some more heat and try the doube nut method again. You might use 2 wreches to make sure the nuts are tight to each other as well.

I've also heard of putting a peice of soft metal like aluminum on top of the stud, then giving it a few decent wraps with a steel hammer to break anything loose inside, like corrosion.

I tried today with a propane torch and they still wouldn't go. I am double nutting them and the nuts still spin. I actually stripped the threads on one of the nuts today. Hopefully my machinist can chuck the cylinder in his lathe with the studs in. If not I am going to try more heat, and some lubricant.
