Nah, I do it all the time on my MX bike and dont notice reduced breaking. But I flip both tires at the same time and use a lot of front brake. Plus im not fast enough on the track to need much brake anyways...

Tires get hard just from sitting around- so keep them fresh.

Whats the notch for?

They say it's to access the rimlocks but I don't think it's really necessary.
The real thing that's nice are the place to put your feet to hold the unit down, beats a barrel for sure.
Plus, it's a "tool" so I'll write it off.

tubliss is pretty retard proof for pinching the tube and easier too
but id rather burn off whats left then get a new tire, instead of fliping it

I can change a tire manually in about 15 minutes, hardly much of an inconvenience compared to the pay off...

You may not get a flat tube but you can damage the sealing red bladder deal if you are paying close attention to what you are doing. Then it will have a slow leak or not hold air at all.

I can't see flipping a tire on a CR5, that only is good for 5 or 10 minutes before it's rounded anyway, unless you are riding in sand.

Well, tools are fabulous and I write them off.
Even if I didn't write them off I would still have this stand.
If you take 15 minutes as it is, you could do it in 5 with this stand, promise.
Also, I can understand if you hardly change tires but, I have 18 bikes so far and I'm picking 3 more up this week.
Between me and my local buddies, we have a combined bike count over 80.
Plus, it looks a little more professional when you change a tire for a customer on a tire stand.
Street tires are a bitch without a stand.
There's enough of you hoons out west that live/ride close together to get one and share it.
It's really a great tool, just watch the Dunlop video and you'll see how easy it makes tire changing.
Hell, I'm tired of trying to sell you guys on this, get one or don't.

The "Brit" method...

I've used ether a number of times to mount atv tires for friends. red neck, yes, but effective.

I have used that method a bunch over the years on everything from trucks to heavy equipment. I am not sure what they were using for fluid but they used a ton of it, maybe why the camera fell over...because they blew up everything in site. It just takes a little shot of either and boom...done.

I used ether on a set of ATV tires that were strapped so tight the beads were touching. We left them in the sun all day in 100 degree heat and they still wouldnt seat even with 2 tie downs. Well the first 4 tries we only put a few squirts in. All it did was light on fire. SO i got the idea of using a blow gun on the air compressor to "replenish the fresh air in the tire" and sprayed about twice the amount of ether....

Yeah we have one of those at work now, the one we have is called a Cheetah, it's the way to go. I still used ether last summer when I blew a bead on my truck on the beach at Pyramid lake pulling my buddies new Chevy and boat up and out. The first time I saw ether used was at the llantaria in baja. We were down with some buggies and I blew a bead on a tire that was a little skinny for the rim. I tried all the tie downs etc...nothing. Took it to the llantaria, looking around, where is the coats 20/20 tire machine, nothing. Guy hits it with ether, throws a match and kicked the tire at the same time...boom.... que psi? or whatever he said. Now I'm looking for the compressor. He starts up a truck on jacks with bed sheets around a rim, the sheets went to another rim welded to the head of a compressor and wha lah, air. I felt so stupid I had better stuff at camp than he did in his "shop".
