so, tool wars is here on saturday. that means killer deals. My old B&D 18v tools are done, it took me 3 batteries to put 1 3" long wood screw through a 2x4. I can get a dewalt 18v hammer drill w/ 2 lithium batteries for $100 if I trade it an old drill. I can also get a 3 pc combo sawzall, drill and impact for $260. Makita and milwauke also have some killer deals. I've always likes dewalt and makitas, and all of the makita and milwauke tools I've used have been corded, but were top notch tools.

the guys at my work say that milwauke tend to be the most durable, dewalt last the longest and are lighter than the milwaukes and the makitas are nice, but the batteries suck. what do you guys think, any experience?

Dont leave out Bosch. My stepfather runs a home remodeling business, has for over 30 years. he has used it all, and the only cordless tools he buys are bosch.

but you cant go wrong with bosch, Dewalt, Milwaukee, or Makita. Ryobi makes some damn good power tools as well.

I have the Makita lithium-ion drill and impact driver and they are great! I use them for 8 hours a day where I work and NO problems. Plus, the lithium batteries only take 15 minutes to charge. The impact gun is surprisingly powerful. I think you can get the driver, drill, and flashlight for $350. 2 batteries and charger also.

yeah, I was thinking that too, but there isn't a price listed. they have another kit w/ the drill and sawzall for 260 w/ a free impact, but its not lithium.
I might just get the $100 trade in lithium drill and buy the $120 bare sawzall. Still unsure, but tomorrow morning I'l see what the guys say. my coworkers who go every year tell me they'll negociate deals too, so we'll see what I can talk them into.

ok, so I walked in the door and traded my old drill for the dewalt 18v litium hammer drill for like $117 after tax. well, we hung out for a while and checked some stuff out, then I happened to wander to the back corner of milwaukees section and saw a big pile of old stuff with some rediculous price tags. I returned the dewalt and got a milwaukee ni-cad set with a 18v hammer drill, 2 batts, a charger and a sawzall for $50. my frined did the same and he got a like 6 peice set of 28v litiums for $200. it was rediculous, after I grabbed the items for us a dude came right behind me with a big cart and he grabbed the whole damn pile!  I scored some sweet free shirts and hats and a signed poster from the makita girls
