does the rtv gasket sealer actually work and stay in?

Work great for me - ya it will wear out in 150 or so hours but it will save me as much time cleaning all the crap off the motor that come spewing out of the stock POS.

I have that plus on my build and just a little black RTV and the stock metal seal have done me great.... A little spooge around the manifold, but no drips, runs or build up! Now where it hits the silencer that is a different story, even with my fancy (cheap ass) eBay double hose clamp rubber seal I am still oozing the spooge! Maybe time to re-pack the silencer, as it just recently started!

I am the one who proposed the idea of the stove rope, on both forums. I am soo sick and tired of reading all of the crying about how the alumimum ones are:

"junk / they don't last / they wear out"

If you use the flat type stove rope and wrap the aluminum (or steel) one like a wrapped header: It will not only last forever, it wont leak and it will cut down on the pipe vibration.

Not a drop out of a stock setup after putting some right stuff in there.
