I picked up one of these for my WR400F and the fit / alignment was a bit hokey to say the least....

yeah, i put up a post a while ago.
most people that owned them bagged them for

dodgey allignment
dodgey bolt holes
bend too easily

i really wanted one but after all the negative feedback, i decided not to bother. NOT OEM QUALITY.

IMO I think the crf rear end looks stupid on the steelie, it makes the tank look bigger and uglier than it already is... theres a guy by the name of Davey Johnston that converts the steel frame bikes so that they use a gen-1 250 rear # plates and fender and 450 tank and shrouds, I cant find an exact picture of the 500 but heres one of the open bikes he's made that uses the plastic im talking about...

personally I hate the feel of the honda AF the frame feels wide to me and I personally like the steel frame better, I wouldnt take the time to fab up my frame to accept newer plastic becuase Im fine witht he stock ones, its just some peoples personal preference to "looks"

yea he may not be the fastest but alot of people that ride the bike he builds can, they are real nimble because he doesnt make the frames super wide

call me weird but the frame spars on the AF just feel massive between my legs, Ive ridden a gen-1, gen-2 and gen-3 and they all feel awkward, the gen-3 felt the best

I know what you are saying, some bikes just feel weird to you when you ride them for some reason. :?

i like the look of the 01' 250 back half on the modded steely. i wonder how much work that would really take ?

This is more than just a cool subframe. I think these were 17-18 lbs lighter than the production cr 250's. Anyone have any info on them ?
