I think I've adjusted the idle twice since I've built my bike...
The trick is to hold the throttle slightly open while doing so, as to not overstress the plastic.

Robertg, Thanks for the link . $29.95..........

I'll have my local guy machine me one for [I'm betting] $10..................................... at most.
Zipbutfekers charged me $15 to get one to VT....that's last thing I'll have shipped from Zipbuttfekers bytheway. Like THAT couldn't have been mailed USPS for .70 cents....................

Oh well, their business, run it their way.

Whoa, perhaps I was to hasty with my last post. I hadn't seen that the $29.95 screw had FREE SHIPPING!!.
Well that makes it a super duper deal.

That eBay link is $30.00 for two screws. I thought that was a deal considering one zip-ty screw would cost me over $50.00 shipped.

Hang on a sec here, this link is for an idle screw, NOT the zip-ty "AIRSCREW". The airscrew is worth the $ and not something i'd make (yet). if we r talking airscrew i'm in

For the idle screw I used M5 stainless threaded rod, duplicated the end taper of the plastic screw, then TIG'd a wing nut on - having duplicated the spring landing length.
The average bloke without a lathe & welder can easily use a grinder & either a high strength loctite or a lock nut against the wing nut. There's no need to pay someone else to have an easily reached, and referenced for position (as in , you don't have to look at it, or get off / stop your bike), idle screw.
I've a Zip Ty airscrew, but have araldited a small stainless tab into the screw slot for easy, non sighted setting reference.
As my riding ranges from sea level to about 3000 ft ( the Blue Mountains aren't very mountainous, but they can be vicious

), these 2 screws are about all I ever have to touch with regards to carb settings, but adjusting them makes a worthwhile difference in the tight stuff I ride - the wing nut & tab make it a no brainer to do.
