I have nearly got all the components together to start my AF conversion but there are still a couple of areas that are a little vague to me,
I am doing a gen 4 AFC and so will be re-using the cast Y as AlisoBob has taught us to do,I will also be using 6061 square tubing.
I would like to know which TIG welding wire to use,4043 or 5356???,
they both seem to have their own benifits but I would like to have the views from you guys that have built and ridden your AF's hard.
The other answer that I am searching for is do I need to heat treat the frame after welding or will it be OK.

Some of it was welded with 5356, some with 4043.

He said that 5356 generally is stronger and more ductile than 4043. But 4043, which contains 5 percent silicon, typically flows better, is more crack-resistant, easier to weld with, less prone to weld smut, and yields a more aesthetic weld.

Its all past my knowledge of welding...

Sounds like 4043 is the way to go if you have limited experience welding Honda frames

Do you know which parts of the frame were welded with which wire ??

Just from appearance, it looks like the butt welds are the 5356... everything else looks pretty.....

I think some guys use 1100, which is easier to use than either of the other two, and still gives acceptable stregnth..... but use what ever your local "expert" reccomends.
