I have a 85 motor in my atc, and am in need of a crank rebuild. I see no aftermarket for this. My question is this, can a newer style crank be dropped in and a spacer plate be used?? This would be great since the newer style cranks are rebuildable with atermarket rod kits and are quite plentiful. Its the case height that is different right?? Any info would be much appreciated.

it probly be cheaper to put a new rod on it. oem, prox, hotrods, vesrah, wiseco.....take your pic which brand. rod is $80-$100 depending where you buy it, and probly $100 for a shop to install it. complete crank is $316+ shiping. cometic will make the spacer, they might even have some already made. check the case studs, they might need to be longer but im not for sure.
