that was the result of the recession between 08-09

it seems beyond logic that canada has gained employment during a recession while the rest of the world has lost jobs.

Companies shed jobs on the way down, probably faster than necessary. And then are very reluctant to re-hire when the economy picks up. This is your "jobless recovery". The net result is that and the end of the cycle those employed are doing more work than before.

Thats how I run my company.... But there is an upside...

4 guys x $16 = $64 per hour per crew.

2 guys working their asses off is 2 x $24 = $48 per hour.

My employees are making more, I've lowered my costs to my customers to get the work, but havent sacraficed my margins as my labor is much more efficent so I'm making the same, or maybe a few % points more.... Everyones happy!!!! ( 'Cept the guys laid off......)

My "Gross" numbers are down 30% from 2008, yet my "Net" profits are the same.

You have to get creative in this economy

yeah they dont exactly help right now.....sure, back when corporations were raping the workers, unions were great. but now, they are just another political organization.

we had spies sent in to my high school to catch us working on our computers and the network ourselves, but to call it in and have a union guy come out and do it, noone would get to it for months.........the result was that our school got hit with plenty of union fines.
