I am looking for a shock to put on my 2000 CR500. I managed to break the shock body on the one I already have while attempting to install some new shock bearing. doh.

So what shocks do yall have?

And what years have the same shock absorber (same spring rates/valving as well?) as the stock one on my 2000?

Thanks!

How much do you want for it, and what condition is it in?

Thanks

I am pretty new to the CR500's so I am not quite sure what the differences in rear shocks are from year to year. I know that some years had showas and some had kayaba shocks, but I am unsure which ones are which. The shock that I broke is the stock 2000 shock that the bike came new with which I know is a KYB.

What years KYB shocks are the same as the 2000 model shock that I have? Are all the KYB's that came on the latter model CR500s valved and sprung the same from the factory?

Sorry for all the questions guys. I am still learning lots about the 500's so please excuse my noob questions. I really appreciate the help from you hoons!

I think 95 or 96 -01 all use KYB suspension and should use similar valving and springs.

Ok, so from the sounds of things it looks like I am looking for a 96 or newer rear shock.

Hows $20 + ship sound? Its in fine working order - no leaks, etc. Here's a pic:

And BTW,

I sold my linkage to a guy with an 01 and it worked fine.
