Other than the guy being an idiot, that's a pretty sweet looking ride. I mean, if you like the powder coating deal. Not my taste but it looks sweet for now.

I guess the chain was so tight, the rear chain guide wouldn't fit?

I also like the multiple use of incorrect fasteners...

But other than that, bike looks ok, simply because I am not a fan of the blackness.

It can be translated to the 95% of the conversions i saw in the banned site,in the cr500 site and others...

Because we say it's cool it doesn't mean "you did it right"

for me it like O.k you did a hard work so i'm impressed,i agree with you

sometimes Bob but if you have the key for the perfect conversion do it

yourself or find one and put a sticky in the AF section

My frame..... done by Uncle Crackers brother.

Look at anything welded by Chachi, SOLID Bro, those damm Aussies..., or some other bikes....

Finding a good "Tig Master" isnt all that hard.

I'm not impressed with the bulgy welds, but I agree with leaving the floor of the old mount on, theres a good chance that no matter how you remove the old one there will be a "soft" spot where the frame was welded, we all know how the aluminum will puddle or flow into the weld. I'm thinking that the tube at the weld joint is probably thinner wall than anywhere else, cutting off the weld, which is partially the opriginal tubes material in theory will make it weaker, not less grade, but just thinner.

So: Leave the floor + learn how to weld

I've got a couple of gen1 frames here, i'll try to find time to sonic test 'em

something like this quick sketch...
