it'll only be a few days before they'll be called "terrorists" for trying to stop a relevant solution

It is really sad how they've been grounding more and more Airtankers. Fires that big will actually create their own winds and weather patterns. The only way to fight fires that big are with natural terrain such as rivers, and man made things such as highways, dozer lines etc.
Tankers are a big help...but their biggest purpose is to wet down an area so the hand crews can get in and construct fire line. They are very handy for structure protection too, they can lay down a quick wet-line to direct the fire away from stuff.
Tanker pilots are people that I have alot of respect for. Those guys have brass balls so big I'm surprized they fit in the cockpit.
Not trying to sound like a know it all. I just have a little education/experience on the subject.
Everything is so political now its just retarded. Let the big planes fly....they are a HUGE support for the firefighters on the ground.

The answer to that question scares the shit out of me because it probably can and will get worse.

fires are a natural part of natures cycle(some australian native plants rely on bush fires heat to germinate there seeds). what matters is control breaks.those tankers are more used when properties/ lives are at stake. i dont think they alone would manage to contain such large fires... unless you had a few hundred of them working at once.
