Can someone post some pictures of the V force 2 reeds, I'm mainly looking to see what they look like on the carburator side, and any other pictures would be great. I am trying to see what the differane between 2 & 3 are. I just recieved the 3 and feel that it is restrictive on carb side.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP

I've got my v-force rig apart right now, I'll take pics tomorrow and post them up.

Thanks fastkart, I haven't seen the V2 but there is a incert for the 3, the incert is smaller than the the outlet of the rubber boot and with all the supports or air guids it looks restrictive for a high RPM use, of course thats just my opinion without any tests. Thanks

I also have the vforce 3 setup on the way, so i'll be comparing them side by side.

I had one here, it might make more velocity with its radiused cross braces and smaller design, but i'm guessing it'll flow less cfm up top

i'll stick with my carbontyech in the stock cage with the pedals tweaked + spaced

Yea thats what I'm thinking, now that I already have V3 I might just have a real expensive papper weight. When you say you have the pedals tweaked, what do you mean? Thanks

sorry, not the pedals, but the stops. they're rolled back so the pedal opens more and a spacer made from the stock reed is between the carbontech and the stopper

Back plate without reeds to intake manifold (got the idea to try to match the manifold last night, you can see where I started carving on the junk manifold to see if it would work)

I'm running the vf2 on the gen-1 and I removed a ton of meat off the boot and the reed block itself and noticed a difference. You also have to think about just how far standard reeds wll open versus 2 sets of smaller ones. I believe the vforce design may seem more restrictive when looking at the inlet, but really the restrictive part on a set of reeds would be bridges and the gap between the reeds and the reed block when they are as far open as they will get. standard reeds have to be under a lot of tension when opened to their fullest. vforce reeds are at a much closer angle, so they will open all the way up right away. one of the reasons most people notice better throttle responce right away. they don't mate up well with the intake boot, whcih is why I moidified mine and the stock ones will match the maximum flow of a stock pj carb, so unless you beef up your carb and do some serious porting, you won't notice any increase in topend.
some people hate them, I like them, but don't think they are worth the money on a stock bike. my gen-3 runs new oem honda reeds.

btw, fast cart, there is plenty of meat on that boot, mine has all 4 corners all the way out, then I ovaled the both peices together until there wasn't much left to hold the reeds. just be careful with the upper left corner in the pic, it can get pretty thin on the boot. Also, if you can, a '85-'88 boot comes larger with more meat to cut out and its shorter and straiter, if there isn't an issue with space and carb placement, I'd hunt down one of those.
also, anyone who has used a 41mm carb shoudl have noticed that the inside of the boot is liek 39mm, working the whole boot helps a lot with a larger carb.

Thanks DG. That actually is an 85/86 manifold, but I cut it really, really poorly for the vforce setup, which is why i'm gonna mess with grinding it first. I also am planning to match where the carb fits too, as both of my carbs are 41's.

My Vforce 3 reeds for a CR250 that i used in my three wheeler had a insert in the carb side that had to be ground to match the intake boot. i would imagine they are all the same? i used a dremel to match it to the boot, all was well.

Also I found that using a dremal tool with a sanding drum works real good.

a small mill type bit works even better

I used a small carbide bit on a dremel, everything else leads u with rubber or plastic
