Moved all the furniture out, pulled the carpet back... tossed the carpet pad...
See the blue plastic? The copper pipes are inside...
Their leaking just ABOVE the slab....
I think I dodged this bullet....
New pad... some solder, a little drywall repair, some paint..... Its all good again.

good to hear it's not going to require busting up the slab.

NO WAY!, thats a bitch to have it leak like that
atleast you have ground you can dig, its all clay below 3 ft here
I've been callin "ralph" since tuesday night, yesterday afternoon i'm tryin to sleep but hear the sewer pump in the basement running.
out on the farm here we have a septic tank outside where things seperate and the pump takes the water and either blows it out a jet into the bush a few hundred feet from the house, or you have a "field" of bullshit pipes with little holes in gravel that it seeps out thru, i've got a field but that wasnt the problem
the dammn pump doesnt have the simple flapper to stop drainback and hold prime, it has a diaphram looking valve with a spring like a holley vaccum secondary, i start by looking in the filter, hmm the trap cage is broke and somethings trying to suck thru, a babywipe! FK!, whatever, i'll get it fixed, get a filter thats not broke, clean up some shit, wash down the 3ft trail of septic water to floor drain with bleach, air the basement out
started at 2:30, was done by 5 with all the running arround to the neighbors to get a screen and then get dragged into checking out an engine thats down on his irrigation pump, after that i went and got the boy from moms cuz i needed help keeping him from helping and he's got a fever of 101 too, dammit! cant believe it, i havent been this sick since i had mono for 3 weeks the fall after i graduated, ate 1 cinnamon bun in 2 days, atleast it tastes almost the same coming up as going down
it had worked good 3 times of pumping lastnight, then about 1:15am i hear the dammn thing running, should take 5 min max, i go down at 2 and shut the breaker off so it isnt smoked, back in it thismorning and there was a wipe stuck in the pumps rotor that i didnt actually get into yesterday, theres no shaft on the rotor, its just a mag drive deal so it wasnt stuck tight

THIS IS WHY I DONT LET PEOPLE TOUCH MY SHIT!!!!!
Theres a real good reason I dont go to the hosipital with broken bones or deep cuts, why I dont take my car to the dealership or other service station, and why I gennerally do everything my self...
Last night, I had it all set up to fix this mess myself... If it incleded saw cutting out my floor... fuck it ... its comming out.
Why wife starts calling in insurance company to get that ball rolling... what ever.
So, Jose fukin' Cuevro come over to "dry out" underneath my cabinets by knocking all the toe-kicks out. I tell him thats not such a good idea.... He looks at me like " Shut the fuck up, whitey..."
Well..... thanks for fucking up my cabinets Jose!!!
Things sunk about 3/8" My wife opened one... glass bowls shattering all over the floor.
I call Jose's boss to tell him what a dumbfuck he hired.. he asks " Didnt Jose place the temp supports??"
Jose gets sent back over, says it was like this when he pulled to toe -kicks out.... I tell him NFW!!!!
So, lets do the math...
Bob: Fix water leak.... $10 in parts. New Carpet pad.. $100...Repair drywall and paint $100, rent blowers to dry shit out.... $100
Insurance: I had to pay the plumber to fix the lean ( No covered by insurance) $200. Pay $1500 deductable.... Go through $100 in meds to calm the fuck down from Jose destroying my house.... and the house isnt even done ....
This is the last time anyone touch's my shit.....

yup, people think I'm paranoid, my new landlord loves it, but thinks I freaken weird, but I will not let anyone touch my shit! My mother in law took her car to one of the $15 oil change places, they used the wrong sized socket and rounded off the head, then said it was like that and they couldn't do the oil change. So then I had to fix that. I took my truck once to the stealership after I got an oil leak from smacking the oil pan on some whoops out at dumont. After screaming at the warranty company and the asshole service manager, having to pay $200 out of pocket, when I got my truck back my seat adjuster plate was busted off, my alarm didn't work right and they only put 5 quarts in a 7 quart pan!
fuck it, not one touches my shit. I told my landlord that my garage door opener is a POS, he wanted to pay a guy to come out and fix a 20 year old chain drive opener, I just grabbed one of the 3 year old screw drive one from the old house we foreclosed on and installed it, told the landlord he got a free upgrade

for drying the carpet, dont pull it up, get an industrial carpet cleaning machine, and instead of applying water down, just use it to vacuum the water up.
my stepdad has a big ass Century carpet machine for his business. the thing has 2 big ass shop-vac motors running to provide hard suction to suck water out of the carpet. take the hose and stick it in a 5 gallon bucket of water, the fucker is empty almost as fast as if you just dump the fucker out.
