I had an 83, 84 and an 87, they handle like shit but are faster than a CR5 out the box Some work and the 7 port motors (85+) are fast as fuk and rev to the moon.

I loved them but then I found the CR5, if you are a pro.... no just a good rider then you will hate them as the suspension was made by a guy with a big hammer and anvil but if you just like going fast on nice groomed areas then they rule
The motors stock were a pinging and jetting nightmare, mostly because of a horrific squishband (designed by bielzibub himself) and the SHIT 40mm mikuni, if you have the head modified and slap on a kehin they are fukin awsome. They still handle like crap and beat the living fuk out of you tho

there was a few dudes using the 490 for climbers back in the day. no cooling system to mess with.
