Subject: Fw: NASCAR incident
Joe Gibbs Racing driver Brad Coleman was testing a Gibbs NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car at Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds earlier this week and came onto the radio and told his crew something rather unusual.
"Guys, I hit a coyote," Coleman said.
Coleman was running close to 200 mph around the 10-mile test track when he saw the animal wander under the outside guardrail.
"I'm in the middle of the corner, and I'm doing like 190," Coleman said Friday at Nashville Superspeedway before practicing his Nationwide Series car. "I'm just cruising. You run the high line there, because that's where the most banking is. It's the high-speed lane. There's just a guardrail there like on the freeway.
"I see this thing, it must've been 100 feet in front of me, just jump out. Right when I saw it come out from under the guardrail, I was like, 'That's a coyote.'"
"It just started smoking like crazy," Coleman said. "And it smelled terrible. I didn't see anything in the mirror, so I was like, 'I wonder where it went?' I said, 'Guys, I hit a coyote. I'm going to come in because I think it screwed up the radiator. I think it clogged up the grille a little bit.'"

I hit one at 130+ in my old supra, it took out the bottom of the front facia, bent the AC radiator into the front crossmember which then bent into the crank pully which blew off the belt and pushed the fan into the rad destroying it,
There was chunks of coyote all underneath the car
I ended up removing the AC rad thing and eveything else then using a sissor jack to bend out the lower crossmember, new rad and fan and aside from never having AC again plus the whole bottom splitter missing the car was tits
It was a trip when I saw it, I knew I wasnt gonna try and swerve cos I would have rolled it and died, so I just braced for impact. It sounded horrific when it hit, and was squirley for maybe 1 second then fine

I hope you didn't waste the fresh meat, brit
All you had to was chuck the thing on the exhaust manifold.
When cooked, ready to eat just add some vegies.

i was mad at my truck cuz the ring gear had a bad spot on it so on the way home one night i told bro if a deer came on the road i'd hit it, 1/2 mile ahead one walked to the center, all he said was "there it is" i got up to 130-135mph and drilled it on center. couldnt feel the hit in the truck, i didnt want to stop but bro did, so we went back, nothing done to the truck at all, no hair on it, just a mist of meat on the inside of the front mudflaps. all we could find of the deer was an ear and a hoof sitting together on the road

My best obliteration was hitting a bird perfectly under the tires doing about 90. All I saw was a giant *POOF* of white feathers in the rear view.

I did the same thing coming back from the river, Going through Barstow I watched this crow land in the E lane to the right and was doing the happy crow bounce down the line in my direction than made a turn right towards me in the lane and POOF right under the front tire. I didn't see much but my friend behind me said it looked like I hit a black pillow.

I often wondered if there were crows in the States.
I know now.

There are quite a few, including myself that "eat crow" from time to time.

I didn't think there would be much meat on a crow to eat.
Do you use it as an appetiser or a snack with a BEER.

Eating crow is a term like, putting your foot in you mouth
Say something you would bet your life on and having to take it back with regret "You'll eat crow"

Looks real enough. Street bikes have been known to cut through a deer with minimal damage.

i can believe it. when you hit something like that going that fast, instead of absorbing and bouncing, it just explodes......its like dropping a jello cube. it will just so Squish when it hits the floor. now, whip that cube at the wall, and it will go SPLAT.
