Just go the the Aluminum Frame Conversion section of this forum. The question comes up quite often.

Try using different search terms too. Tons of info in the AF section. Good luck on your build.

check your lower end main bearing in your crank, your crank looks rough, and drill some relief holes in you new piston or releive your exhaust bridge after you get that mess cleaned up on your cylinder. good luck on your build

Go to the AF / BEER CANS section and scroll to you get to,
Sticky: For completed bikes of all generations, CLICK HERE!
You will find a SHIT LOAD of info in there.
The whole section won't let you down though.
If you get the 01 250, look for gen2 250 info mainly.
Good luck with the build.

One more thing im uneducated with, is the year differences between the different generations of frames, also are the 2 stroke frames of the same year the same as the four stroke frameof the same engine capacity etc etc.... :?: :?: :?:

gen1 97-99 CR250 98/99 CR125
gen2 00/01 CR125-250
gen3 02-07 CR125-250 02-04 CRF450
gen4 04-08 CRF250 :?: 05-08 CRF450 :?:
gen5 09- CRF250 / CRF450 :?:
Could be wrong, I am sure someone will tell me.
The gen3 CR250 is similar to the gen3 CRF450, but is not the same frame.
The gen3 CRF450 is based on the gen3 CR250.
The rest are completely different.
That pic is of a gen4 CRF250 conversion.
Ask Danny about converting one of those.
This should be in the BEER CAN section anyway.

Most likley not, why would you want to do that anyway?

Either weld up the gen1 250 swingarm or by another gen1 CR250 swingarm.
Don't get creative, as soon as you change one thing you will have to change something else.
It soon becomes a nightmare and possibly won't function correctly anyway.
The simple things in life are often the best.

No real flash hey.. The back shock is also rooted cuz the owner did burnouts on it after he discovered what had happened, he wants $800 for it, the motor still runs but the left hand side crank case is cracked (no oil leaks)...

Is it worth $800 in Australia

I think it looks ok for $800, besides you won't need the engine for an AF conversion anyway.
