decompressor

I've heard some small talk about decompressor valves, but no hard evidence of which ones work/don't work.
I searched ebay and found a vendor for quality stainless units. He guaranteed that they disengage at start up.
I figured I'd need one on the 500 since the old right knee isn't what it used to be.
The 480 can be difficult at times, so I figured I'd let it be the guinea pig.
After it's all said and done....it now kicks more like a strong 250.
Before, I'd have to get it up on compression and jab the fuck out of it. Now I can push the button and rabbit kick (a description from the other forum) the bitch.
Makes a wheezing snort when kicking, but the first pop of life and it closes off.....I'm impressed.
I was across town over the weekend and I accidentally stalled the bike. Finally on the 9th/10th kick it cleared out and fired up again. I was about to search for a shade tree to go rest under.
Big difference now, I can casually give it a few stabs and it's brought to life.
Now I can ride it to the Honda shop (when my jets come in) w/confidence.
The onlookers will give a nod of approval..... instead of laughing and finger pointing.
