Check this link out:

It's a bit long, but very informative on many levels. I wonder how the 4 stroke fanatics on KTM talk in the MX section will read or attempt to take it in - the usual response is "2 strokes are done in MX/SX" or ,"nothing is faster than a 450 4t". So many people have been brainwashed - Honda being the major force behind all the BS.

Who those partners are Orbital won’t say, though an ADI-equipped EXC300 from KTM is strongly rumoured. But what it will say is telling: “Everyone, except Honda, is harbouring significant two-stroke thoughts” says Ahern.

Except Honda....assholes will miss the boat on this one. Oh well, the trusty 5 will live on I s'pose.

"Ricardo’s 2100cc 2/4SIGHT experimental engine is able to switch from 2-stroke to 4-stroke operation. It uses a 2-stroke cycle to meet demands for high torque and 4-stroke for constant-throttle running"

Say what?

I'd say it's pretty much like how the hybrids work, ICE engine for acceleration , then onto electric for cruising. In this case , 2t for accel, 4t for gutless cruising, DFI & ignition will just cut to every 2nd stroke injection & firing. Wonder if it is like a 2t diesel?

Just hope this ( the 2t DFI) all happens & we can get back to the real world - bikes of the same capacity racing against each other. It's funny how those that say that 2ts are dead & useless, never face up to having equal capacities, they just avoid the issue & rant on about how superior the 4ts are......

injected 500cc V4 producing over 200bhp, in an evolution frame . Counter-rotating crankshafts will kill vibration and gyroscopic resistance to turning

Now that is sexy
