Has any one ever put grease nipples in the rear suspension linkages? It seems like I have seen this on older XR's before. Is it possible to do this? If so does anyone have pics of this?

OK, so I looked up the suspension (rear shock absorber) on 1985 XR 200R Honda and you can deffinately see the grease zerks in all of the bearings for the rear suspension. Has any one tried implementing the idea onto the suspension?

I thought about it, and might do it next winter. The hard part would be drilling a hole through the outer part of the bearing.

Yeah I think I am going to give it a try as well. I might take an old bearing and try to drill a little hole in it before I drill into a new one.

I put grease fitting in an 84 CR500, but that had bushes and not bearings.
You would have to be careful not to damage the bearings.
Good luck man.

push the bearing out, flick the needles out with a pick or magnet, dremmel grind a hole and re-install them. I did an old 125 before, worst part is having to wash the heck out of it with brake cleaner after

linkage or anything with needles would not be hard at all. The shock spherical bearing would be interesting.

some ktm bikes have zerks. personally i dont like the idea, considering it only takes a hour or two, to pull of the swingarm and grease it. im sure they are a nice feature, untill they get broke off and full of dirt :D. and the ones i seen on the ktm will get broke off, the first time you glide over a rock.
