Ok so I've pieced together a Gen3 cr250 but cant seem to find the correct swingarm, but I've found a couple of 125 swingarms on fleabay. Does anybody know the difference between the 125 and 250 swingarm? I know the shock is different and the part #'s for 02-03 250 and 125 swingarms are different but the shock linkage #'s are the same. I dont want to do any filing of the motor, as you have to on the 125's for conversions, so does anyone have a clue? I gotta get this thing runnin.

i dont know the difference in the swingarms. but i can say this, on the cr250 some people say they needed to relieve the back of the motor and some claim they didnt need to. the cr250 motor is relieved from the factory, and there is alot of clearance. a 500 motor might not need to be relieved but its looks that it would be very tight fit. i havent fit my engine yet so i cant say if mine will need relieving, but if its a super tight fit then im going to grind it

Thats exactly what I'm getting at. I wonder if its all in the shock? Since the 250 runs Showa and 125 KYB, but I'm assuming its probably the swingarm since they have different part #'s. Currently I'm going to run an older 250 motor ('00) which is almost a direct bolt in but eventually I'm putting my 500 in it. But I dont want to notch the 250 if I dont have to.

topped out my 03 250 has 1/8" room between the coil and the 500 case with stock shock, it only moves away as it compresses
