The Mi high school football season opened today, and my boy had a highlight reel game. Yea, I'm gloatin
He was pissed off this morning cause they told him at practice he wouldn't be in the backfield for this game. Seems that some "Super Star" guy(and shit, this kids big for 15) skipped practice Monday and got his ass benched for the first half. Cody had to leave his spot at fullback and start the game at tight end on offense, and play outside linebacker on D.
Well, he musta sucked it up and took it, cause the game was a back forth 1,2,3 kick affair the first couple possesions, til he blew down field and caught a 27 yard pass at the 7. Unfortunatly, the QB fumbled on the next snap, and they turned it over. The very next snap, Cody screamed in on the opposing QB in the end zone, knocked the ball loose and flopped on it for the TD they should have got from his reception.
He was a defensive madman, I counted at least 4 tackles, he was in on 3 sacks, hurried the QB 6-7 times, and the play I'm the most proud of, saved the shutout.
Late in the 4th, Southlake threatened with a drive. They ran the ball to the left side, got some room and looked like they were finally gonna score one and guess who come blazin up to knock the ball loose again.
a recovered fumble and 3 knees later, the Clintondale Dragons JV is 1-0, and tonights star also rides a CR500.
The excitement in his voice when I talked to him after the game.

He's got pine ass. He got some PT in the 2nd half. He didn't do shit.
