Anybody have a 500 crank sitting around they could measure for me? I need to know the diameter of the crank wheels and the width of the assembled crank.

1990 crank

wheel = 124.8 mm

width = 196 mm (measured by freehand, don't have a caliper that big)

thank you for the info.. On the width measurement is that the width at the outside of the wheels or total overal length?

Is someone thinking of putting a 500 crank into a 480 (is that possible???)?

Did you get the specs that you needed?

I am trying to put one in my 480.. so far I know that I will have to machine a bushing to house the ignition side crank seal, and possibly turn down the crank wheel outer diameter.. I really want my 480 to have a full circle crank.. I am also hoping the 3mm stroke increase will reduce my exhaust duration some to get my timing back where I wanted it to be..

somewhat.. I still need a different width measurement. The crankwheels on the 500 according to the measurement above are larger than those of the 480..

I have a 500 crank setting on my work bench.
I'll see if I can get the measurements that you need, asap.

Does your crank have the tinned wheels? I would like to know the diameter of cranks with and without the tin.. as well as a width measurement of a assembled crank taken at the outside of the wheels

Wheel diameter with tin = 124.8 mm
Wheel width = 68.0 mm
Total width ~ 196 mm
