From A.J:
Seems a couple of fairly infamous members from here ,
seem to have a lot on their minds at TT. Roll Eyes
They know exactly how the bikes i sell are used,
(amazingly niostradamous like)
or not used, seem to think my welds are inferior and birdroppings.
(i'm a certified TIG welder and graduated the NHRA and NASCAR programs )
and know what i have or havnt done in R&D..
they know what i should do , ,what i shouldnt do.. etc..
gawd youd think they had married me..!! Grin Cheesy Wink
sorry bob and brit , you arnt my type
and i dont need another wife.. got one, thanks anyway..
Hey , I take plenty of flack from the *innarnet*
some justified , some rubbish..
but for a couple of knuckleheads
to jump on some TT thread , that i cant reply to..
that was about the bailey bike ,
and go on and on about 500AF quality and weld quality is a bit below
the belt , dontcha think?
constructive critism is one thing,,
but generally best given at an appropriate time or place..
that thread wasnt it.
they both have my email addy and have used it in the past..
Any fellow rider should at least have the decency, and common courtesy
to start up a new thread.. anywhere they please,
to whine ,biaetch ,and moan about something that you din't buy,
or carp on about being able to do it far better .
I shouldnt take anything on the net too seriously , and usually dont.
But ive ate, slept , and breathed 500AFs for a decade.
I guess this time it just got under my skin, because i cant reply to the thread.. lol or maybe i'm just having a bad day..
but i just dint see any reason for the bashing , in that context..
from a couple yahoos i thought were decent enough guys.."
A.J, let me respond...
1. Of everyone I know who has a REAL Service Honda, only Trace rides it on a consistant basis. There is a dude at Jawbone who trucks his out on a trailer, for others to gawk at. Tires never hit dirt once. Maybe its a Cali thing...I dont know. All I'm saying is that that dude "Nevada" is not atypical. MadDog just bought a bike from a guy in Az who never rode it ( still has the "tits" on the front tires). It happens more than you may realize....
2. Yea, I think your bikes are pretty expensive for what you get. That Black bike for $16.5 is a great example. BUT... the market place determines the real value... no me. If you get $16.5 for it.. well.... there ya' go.
3. The CR500AFX you delivered to Mission Viejo ( how many could that be) has some pretty poor alignment of the lower right side cradle that was fabricated. There is about a 3/16" joggle in the splice. The craftsmanship I saw was in my opinion, sub -par. Even more so considering your experience in these conversions.
4. Performance vs Bling. Your bikes seem to be much more about powercoating, than hardware. I'll leave it at that.
5. Regarding me being a "yahoo"...... I have an opinion that your bikes could be made more in line with what one would expect to receive , that you should offer more "upgrades" besides powdercoating and billet covers, and that customers should receive all the "takes-off's" from a bike that is customized...... hell..they paid from them in the price of the bike..right?
Everyone tells me your a hell of a nice guy A.J., maybe if you take what I'm saying to heart and improve your offerings slightly, you will even get a bigger following...
I'm not trying to step on your toes...
...honestly.
