AJ Speaking Out...

Post by AlisoBob »

From A.J:

Seems a couple of fairly infamous members from here ,
seem to have a lot on their minds at TT. Roll Eyes

They know exactly how the bikes i sell are used,
(amazingly niostradamous like)
or not used, seem to think my welds are inferior and birdroppings.
(i'm a certified TIG welder and graduated the NHRA and NASCAR programs )
and know what i have or havnt done in R&D..

they know what i should do , ,what i shouldnt do.. etc..
gawd youd think they had married me..!! Grin Cheesy Wink
sorry bob and brit , you arnt my type
and i dont need another wife.. got one, thanks anyway..

Hey , I take plenty of flack from the *innarnet*
some justified , some rubbish..

but for a couple of knuckleheads
to jump on some TT thread , that i cant reply to..
that was about the bailey bike ,
and go on and on about 500AF quality and weld quality is a bit below
the belt , dontcha think?
constructive critism is one thing,,
but generally best given at an appropriate time or place..
that thread wasnt it.
they both have my email addy and have used it in the past..

Any fellow rider should at least have the decency, and common courtesy
to start up a new thread.. anywhere they please,
to whine ,biaetch ,and moan about something that you din't buy,
or carp on about being able to do it far better .

I shouldnt take anything on the net too seriously , and usually dont.
But ive ate, slept , and breathed 500AFs for a decade.
I guess this time it just got under my skin, because i cant reply to the thread.. lol or maybe i'm just having a bad day..
but i just dint see any reason for the bashing , in that context..
from a couple yahoos i thought were decent enough guys.."

A.J, let me respond...

1. Of everyone I know who has a REAL Service Honda, only Trace rides it on a consistant basis. There is a dude at Jawbone who trucks his out on a trailer, for others to gawk at. Tires never hit dirt once. Maybe its a Cali thing...I dont know. All I'm saying is that that dude "Nevada" is not atypical. MadDog just bought a bike from a guy in Az who never rode it ( still has the "tits" on the front tires). It happens more than you may realize....

2. Yea, I think your bikes are pretty expensive for what you get. That Black bike for $16.5 is a great example. BUT... the market place determines the real value... no me. If you get $16.5 for it.. well.... there ya' go.

3. The CR500AFX you delivered to Mission Viejo ( how many could that be) has some pretty poor alignment of the lower right side cradle that was fabricated. There is about a 3/16" joggle in the splice. The craftsmanship I saw was in my opinion, sub -par. Even more so considering your experience in these conversions.

4. Performance vs Bling. Your bikes seem to be much more about powercoating, than hardware. I'll leave it at that.

5. Regarding me being a "yahoo"...... I have an opinion that your bikes could be made more in line with what one would expect to receive , that you should offer more "upgrades" besides powdercoating and billet covers, and that customers should receive all the "takes-off's" from a bike that is customized...... hell..they paid from them in the price of the bike..right?

Everyone tells me your a hell of a nice guy A.J., maybe if you take what I'm saying to heart and improve your offerings slightly, you will even get a bigger following...

I'm not trying to step on your toes...

...honestly.

I din't realise AJ posted that on www.cr500riders.....

I think thats pretty pansy of you to post AJ, why can you not respond on TT? I have not said anything untrue... I have personally looked at 4 of your bikes now and each had issues I would not expect of a $6000 + ride.

"Hey , I take plenty of flack from the *innarnet*

"

Why cant you reply? And how do you not expect to take flack with spelling like that?

As for this???

"they know what i should do , ,what i shouldnt do.. etc..
gawd youd think they had married me..!!
sorry bob and brit , you arnt my type
"

Im lost......

"and go on and on about 500AF quality and weld quality is a bit below
the belt , dontcha think? "

Why below the belt? Do you not like honest opinions?

"constructive critism is one thing,,
but generally best given at an appropriate time or place..
that thread wasnt it
"

Would you rather a thread dedicated to pics of everyones SH welds???

"Any fellow rider should at least have the decency, and common courtesy

to whine ,biaetch ,and moan about something that you din't buy,
or carp on about being able to do it far better
"

I never said I could do it better I said "my neighbour in his shed" could do it better.

"

But ive ate, slept , and breathed 500AFs for a decade.
.
"

That is awsome, but why let production numbers interfere with quality?

"they both have my email addy and have used it in the past.. "

I have never (that I can think of) emailed you.

I'm pretty sure he got banned from TT for advertising without paying for it. I noticed someone named "billyhill" registered today for nothing more to defend AJ. Might even be AJ hiding behind an alias since he's not allowed on TT.

What I don't get is he is a manufactor selling a retail product. As such he is open to the same reviews and opnion as lets say Ford or chev or whatever. If a person expresses a view of the product that is not to the manufactors liking, IMO that manufactor should take that as a positive and correct the issue if it is truly a issue. So lets all be honest.

From what I've personnally seen and from photos the SH does have less then ideal welding. As for commenting on something you did not buy, I don't see that as a issue, we are talking about something that is visible to the eye, so I don't need to buy one to comment on it. When Ford and Mopar went through that period where there paint was peeling off there products, I did not need to buy one to know or comment that there paint was far below exceptable standards.

AJ is not selling as a home brew bike builder, SH in a manufactor of that bike, what is said is fair public comment.

Looks like things are getting all nutty again.....

For those in disagreement of what I said.... basically that A.J could do a better job..... remove your Rose colored glasses and make an honest statement about how you would feel if you paid for a new S/H bike, and it came with issues in cradle alignment, or weld appearance.

Now that bike in question is being explained away as a "prototype" and that why it looks like it does. If its a "prototype".. WTF was it sold to the public then? Most companies keep their prototypes in house, or destroy them after the engineering has been worked out.

The CR500AFX I referenced also has electrical issues ( The trail computer shuts off / on by itself, poor ground perhaps?).

A.J. isnt on trial here..... You guys defend him like a family member who is.

I dont get it ?

I think its really cool too that A.J responds in Traces forums, but that shouldnt give him a "Free Ride".

He should have to face the same questions from any source, like any other member would.

Hey, I see they took a bit of time and included a comment on the post I made reguarding Aj's spelling. The funny thing is, you get alot of peeps over here looking at the posts, but they are just looking for something to get mad about. To me, the number one thing I love about this board is the fun, and how easy it is to voice an opinion without getting into trouble. I play the game over there and keep my good member status, but I have not gone to this board in an attempt to hide and post untruths or to slam folks behind their backs. I am fully aware that they come here and read my stuff, why do you think I post things about Clyde, I get a kick out of the posts and the fact that I know he will read it. My kind of humer (stuff I die laughing about, even though I pen it) just doesn't fly on the cr500riders board. And I thank God, err, Bob, that I have this place to read write and have fun. And as for Aj venting, good for him, I couldn't care less. BTW, I never use spell check. :o

Some real sour freaking people over there. Damn, they should let it go. I tried to add a little humor to break it up.

I dunno, nobody likes to be told that their baby is ugly. I'd get defensive also. Even if I was right or wrong.
