how it hits home with me.

I knew something was up the other day as I walked into the C-17 factory. Bay 4 that has been cleared out for a long time now but has slowly become more for temporary storage, has been cleaned up and fresh lines painted on the floor to mark assemblies off, engines mostly. The Air Force was in yesterday and found lots of FOD laying around, not suprising. So as in typical management fashion everything and I mean everything gets dumped into the scrape bins and halled off. Normally thats not to bad until one discovers that tools and parts called out on your assembly is missing and parked out in the north forthy for recycle.

Ya you guessed it, the tool I need to locate the trunion is most likely barried in that scrap bin. Stupid F'ers.

All because Obamanation is coming to town next week to see what the 3.5 billion (15 C-17's) he signed into law is getting him. Hope its Monday cause I'm planning on taking it off, but he'll be long gone by the time I would get there.

you work on the c17? my dad does jig and fixture there.

Not sure what building it was across the street from the main building tho. They wouldn't let us in his building on family day last summer kinda sucked. Aren't they almost done withe the c17? Lots of layoffs coming? my dad is 61 ready to retire anyways.

Ya 52 is across the street from me. I was at fam day too.

As of now mid august of 2010 for me, could be later as orders trickle in. I'm just happy I'll have my 30 in, in May next year but two years short of age 55.
