$30,000 FOR A 3 DAY STAY IN SOME HOSPITALS??? are you for real? shit, no wonder its the best treatment in the world. for that price id want a free car to go with it. you guys would hate our system. i waited for about 38 hours to get my appendix taken out. had to wait in the waiting room on a mobile bed with everyone watching tv.after delay after delay, it finally got done and cost me nothing. even got some free drugs for the road :D over here, its our baby boom generation clogging up the system from age related problems.its not the best but its FREE!!! :stretcher:

A reform is needed tho, the system in place simply doesnt work.

like...85% of the populace had insurance of some form or another. only 15% is without, but if they got hit by a truck, they could and would recieve immediate care.
don't forget that the uninsured numbers are inflated by over 10 million illegal aliens in this country.

i agree that the price needs to be lowered, but i disagree wholeheartedly with the program that is being rushed through congress right now. it's being rushed for a reason, because it is going to screw a lot of people.

Do a little research. Japanese etiquette has many different degrees of bowing showing everything from respect amongst equals, deference to a superior through to extreme gratitude or delivering a groveling apology. Bowing one's head, bending one's back and shaking hands at the same time are all breaches of Japanese etiquette. So Obama - on Japanese terms - came across as clumsy and weak. But there was no need to bow at all - as evidenced by the numerous pictures of other heads of states and previous American presidents who met the Emperor and simply shook hands. Given American-Japanese history and the age of Emperor himself there was no need to bow period. Clown.

i do agree, a handshake would of been fine.
i beleive a full bow represents showing deep respect.
back in the day, when bowing to a samurai warrior, if you broke eye contact during the bow, that constituted lack of respect for the warrior and he was within his right to strike you down.

but i could see how obamas bow may have struck a nerve with some ww2 vets.
the jap should of been bowing to obama then polishing his shoes lol.

Like I said do a bit of research. The bow was far too deep and showed inferiority / subservience / weakness. Hardly what's called for in the leader of the free world. These observations were made not be WWII vets, right wingers, but by the Japanese. One newspaper would not print the picture because of the message it sent.

I believe one samurai meeting another would keep eye contact for each others protection. Someone considering themselves of a lower caste would bow low and break eye contact for the simple reason it does expose one to attack thus sending a message of subservience. This behavior is seen in many cultures and animals. Ever seen a dog bare its throat to another?

Oh and this subject brought out new pictures of Obama standing without his hand on his heart for the National Anthem, pledge of allegiance etc. Jeez...self-absorbed or what?

From a Japanese friend of mine: You should notice that he is bowing very low while shaking the Premier’s hand. This was an embarrassment to the Premier, since you don’t shake and bow at the same time. And the angle you bow is dictated by your stature compared to the other person. His low bow was that of a subordinate.
