Time marches on. Your interest ina different jug reminds me how long it takes for new aftermarket goodies to become available for certain machines. In the case of the cr500, there is a pretty big following, but nobody makes a fire breathing bolt on top end. It's the same way with other vehicles that become popular and have to be customized with home built accesories instead of mass produced items. It takes years for a small group of dedicated followers to get the aftermarkets attention. It used to drive me crazy how the instant a new chevy truck comes out, boom, the aftermarket is flooded with all sorts of stuff to customize it. I had to wait forever for a set of aftermarket tcase gears for my rig, and they cost fricken twice as much. My advice for anyone wanting to have something that doesn't exsist is to make it yourself. A jug can be designed on a computer for a few hundred bucks. Then you can contact a foundry or whoever and have them cast, or carved out of billet I guess. In fact, might as well make custom billet cases too, that way you could make whatever you want.

I've got some billets to hack cases out of, plotted the majority of the kicker side crankcase, but time is an issue. The billet jug would be excellent, but no point in making it stock

its in the works now. i spoke to the guy making it and he confirmed there is something on the way pretty soon. he didnt give me alot of details because i think there in the testing stages to see whats the best combo of performance/price/longevity. as far as power i know for a fact it will smash a cr500 cylinder judging by the other stuff this guy builds. im sure a big concern was to keep the cost as low as possible but it aint cheap to build something like this.... i dont think it will be extremely expensive but it may be just out of reach of the weekend warrior on a limited budget with 5 kids

Hmmm... I heard once form someone in the know? that parts have to be made for an additional 18 years after production has ended. Just sayin.

Parts have to be supplied for 10 years after production on cars/trucks I dont know about race machines tho

If there is a big enough order Honda will make the parts. They might cost a bit more than before but they will make them. The TRX 250r's I have are in the same boat. There are a couple parts like the foot pegs, and little odds and ends like this that aren't available but everything else is and they still produce parts. It's on a limited run, but they are still making parts. The last 250r was 1989. The popular bikes will have the parts.
