Biggest Loser ( Hoon Edition)

Post by AlisoBob »

So, heres the plan....

I'll put up $200.

Every Hoon who signs up, paypals me $20 ( 10 Hoons = another $200)

$400 total, winner takes all.

Contest runs from today, through April ,30, 2009 ( 4 months)

Biggest percentage loser wins....

Example:

225 - 36lb = 189 ( 16%) Winner
280 - 40lb = 240 ( 14%) Loser

This is all honor system, therefor Brit is pre disqualified.

You will weight yourself weekly, and share your results.... and how you achevied them.

My starting weight is #281

My goal is #225 ( -20%)

Heres a dude from the real show...

How to Determine Whether Your weight is Healthy

* If your BMI is in the range 19 to 24.9 you have a healthy weight.
* If your BMI is in the range 25 to 29.9 you are considered to be overweight and may incur moderate health risks. For example, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure are all linked to being overweight.
* If your BMI is 30+ you are considered to be obese. Obesity is associated with increased risk of cancer, heart disease and other health problems. A BMI of 30 and over increases the risk of death from any cause by 50 to 150 percent, according to some estimates.
* If your BMI is 35+ and you have a waist size of over 40 inches (men) and 35 inches (women) you are considered to be at especially high risk for health problems.
* If your BMI is 40+ you are considered to be seriously obese and at a very serious risk of health problems.

6'7" @225 = BMI of 25. This is right on the border of overweight.....
I'm currently @ BMI 31.7

The BMI index is incorrect. It has been disproven by MD's for along time. They use it as a baseline average. If I reached my BMI I would be dead. Yet right now I'm considered Morbidly Obeise, which I'm not. Don't get to worked up over BMI just shoot for a healthy weight. Every pound you lose removes 9 pounds of pressure from your knees, which is a good thing for those of us with destroyed knees! Good Luck all!

I dont want $20 to be a hurdle in getting healthy... Its not mandatory.

As far as playing for "fun"... Trever, you got a child who's counting on you to be around for 40 more years....

Playing for fun isnt an option.

I'm in. (Did I miss the email address for the PayPal?) Being a little vertically-challenged my BMI is 28.2 at 180 lbs. My goal is <164 lbs by the Fall which would be a shade the wrong side of 25. Maybe me and Mama should have a side-bet? The BMI doesn't allow for swapping lard for muscle, but it'll be cool to kept honest.
