How not to BBQ

We have a free hotdog day at the dealership once a month and im normally the mutt that gets stuck running the grill, the last person to use the grill must have made something really greasy on not burnt it off, so first step to me was everything on max and set fire to it.....
About 10 mins later I see 2ft flames and black smoke pouring out of the grill, I go over to look and hear this angry hissing sound..........
The fukin gas line had melted and there was a liquid propane fireball 2" from the regulator, I jammed my hand in and turned off the bottle which calmed it all down.
I dread to think what would have happened if that bottle let go, the grill was in the middle of 2 new toyota avalons a jeep grand cherokee and a dodge avenger... none were injured......
