I just bought an 86' CR500. The bike starts and runs, but the pipe is so badly damaged that I can't really ride it. It has been crushed nearly flat just at the exit of the head, there is a hole in it about the size of a slice of bologna in the big part of the expansion chamber, and there are multple dents and most of the mounts are either broken or missing. The pipe is being held on with zip ties and wire. The rest of the bike is in pretty good shape, I can't imagine how the pipe got that badley damaged without hurting the rest of the bike inthe process.

If anyone has a pipe laying around they want to part with, let me know. The bike supposedly has a 550 stroker motor in it, so an after market pipe may be better, but beggers can't be choosers.

Try 87cr500guy. He's selling a 1987 roller. Don't know if he's selling parts, but has a FMF set up for it. His add is just below yours.

I am pretty sure my buddy I sold my '86 to has a spare pipe. I'll find out tomorrow.

I have a '86 pipe in OK shape. no leks I can see but a few dings.

I just remembered that I took some pics of it a while back.
you can see the one big dent from the AZ ride in '07 and the head pipe has a little bend in it, but it came off a running bike.

Good Danny'got one, my buddy sold his spare. But he is thinking about offing a bunch of other spare parts he's acumulated, so I'll let you know...
