Yup I got the IMS 3.2 on mine. I havent ran it dry, let alone low, yet. Last long ride I think we did 60 miles round trip and still had more than 1/2 left.

To give you an idea:

Not the best shots - but it was what I had posted already. Cool thing is that I didnt have to modify it at all. One drawback - you'll have to remove the tank to change the plug...

I'd say throttle control and idling :D Went to Marysville and used over 3/4 of a tank in one moto  that was a track though. BTW mine is stock

yeah, my gen-4 (stock motor w/ bumped up compression, PWK, fmf gnarly) on a 1.8 gal tank can go on a pretty good sized loop. My gen-1 with the sicky gnar gnars built '86 motor gets about 2 hours at dumont on a clark 3.1 if I'm lucky!
a lot depends on your style of riding and the terrain.

Due to my size, I keep the rubband wound pretty tight, especially in the sand! I haven't really tried it out on a good ride yet. Riding mx style around my little circle, I can burn through 1/2 a tank in about 25 minutes.

LOL, my last time at dumont Jason was shocked because everytime I ran the hill and came back the level in my tank would drop like an inch! (its a natural tank so its see-though)

ive got like 3.2 `s on the gen 1 bikes,
stock on the gen 2
will have to order a 3.2 for the gen 3 TTM is currently building .

but my Favorite one of all time is on my coutch its a 4.6 on a xr650r

I think all my kids have big tanks on there 500s, if its a racing bike then I leave the tanks alone but if its a trail / sand bike then youll need a bigger tank

Just priced it off of IMS site, $275. Their pretty proud of it, but I think thats the route I'll go. 3.7 gallon and it's white which will go good.

On cruise control I get about 30 mpg (NOT IN THE SAND BOX). A 60 mile loop on the stock tank was doable. No surprise then with my Clarke 3.0 gal tank my range is bumped to 90 miles. We do alot of 100 mile rides in the NW which require me to siphon fuel from 200cc machines. What my mpg is like for MX I don't know? Never really bothered to calculate it. I do feel however it's about 25-30% worse. I do know that I only fill it up a britincali hair above half for races to avoid carrying that extra weight up so high. I have approximately five minutes of riding left at the end of each moto. Just an educated guess is all...

No I never competed in that. I raced at Horn Rapids for their motocross and hare scrambles events. Competed in all the Kendrick Trail Riders cross country and H/S races. All the cross country races put on in Orofino and the Best in the Desert rounds in Idaho City, just north of Boise.
