Well, another great trip is in the books. Many thanks to the Lewis family for setting it up, and having a place for Al and I to stay.

Weather was IDEAL! Food was great. Meeting guys like P. Stoffers is always fun. I have never met a Hillclimber that I didnt like!!! Paul is just getting back on the bike after a wrist injury... Looks like he never got off... Great Rider!!!

Image

Allot of funny stories, good times, and a KICK ASS sound system.. thanks for coming out Paul!

My best memory from the trip was Al and I were watching some guys jump a dune. Al asked me what gear he should hit it at... I think I said " 3rd".. yea.. that should do it. Give my your camera, I'll take a shot".

I think Al hit it in 4th.... He jumped ALLOT further that I though he would. I remember thinking " Man, I didnt know Al was a jumper?"... so All rides up, shuts the bike down, and with a slight tremble in his hands takes his gloves and goggles off. " Did you see that!" he exclaimes!

Oh yea....

Brit was being Brit ( as allways) Dustin was part Duner, part Tow Truck driver. I see a Duramax in Brit's future! It was a long haul from Vegas and back, MFDP showed allot of heart for making it out. Good job!

I rode Dustin's Yamahahahahahaha. Gotta tell ya, I was impressed. Motor started easy, handling was very good. I was doing some slow speed carving in the sand, my CR always wants to tuck the front end in, and tip over. You actually have to counter steer it somewhat when it tries to tuck..

The YZ450F suffers from none of this. Handling remains completely neutral no matter how slow you go, or how hard you crank the bars over. Gotta love the modern suspension geometry!! This would make a great platform to make a " Y-A/F ". My only complaint was when you whacked the throttle, not much happens... except it gets real loud. Do that conversion when that 4 banger goes south!

I dont have any photos, I'm sure the others will post them up.

Lets have a even bigger turn out for next year!

Take note here, second roost is third gear, feet on the pegs and straight. The whoops were a pain unless one was at the far left.

those of you that went met my frend Bruce from the 650 site this is what he wrote.

Great five days at Pismo. More showed up then said they were. Last
minute and others went. Lots of CR500's some major hill climbing rigs
with NOS, extended swing arms, tons of paddles. Paul showed up with a
giant shop on wheels and was amazing bolt of lighting, zipping all
around showing his stuff. There wasn't that many high dollar sand
rails like other years. Lots more begging riders. Every year is
different. I went one tooth more on the rear sprocket on the XR680R to
have 15/46 and the bike would not let me keep the front wheel down on
the drag. Bike would stand up the whole strip. Little more fun but
harder on the nerves. Mr. Lewis has become a CR500R freak! He brought
five or six, maybe more they were everywhere. Crome, polished
aluminum, NOS, every trick part, tricked out to the limit on the
engine, sick! But, one was a real pain to start, I tried and it put a
hole in my boot. Well, it was a good time. Some of the CR500 guys are
beyound rounchy and need a leash.
