so, yesterday I drove from vegas to murrieta with a car trailer and got home around 2:30am
it a '93 stealth twin turbo all wheel drive. '93 is the 4 bolt main, forged crank and 25 spline output shaft stock internals are good to 650hp ~ 10.6@140 with just fuel, turbos and a stong enough clutch I plan on doing a little better than that
the car has a spun rod bearing ,luckily the last guy was mechanically inclined enough to know to shut it down as soon as he heard the knock
here is a shot I snapped on my way out the door this morning.

I'm kinda using this guys car as a model http://www.3si.org/forum/f1/new-project ... et-412567/
he pushing 10s running e85 with bad synchros. I'll see if I can find his drag race video, its hillarious. he lags at launch, then takes off like a rocket, then you see him having trouble getting it in 3rd, then he takes off lieka rocket again and still beats the pants off the other car!

sweet. i only seen a handful of the twin turbos for some odd reason. seems like there was a 300z with twin turbo also from about the same era as the stealth, but i only saw very few of those also for some weird reason

ya, the 300zx, supra, rx-7, 3GT/S and DSM (eclipse talon laser) all had turbo models through the '90s but too many pussies wanted N/A auto trans models
the 3/s it really in a league of its own being a true AWD with %55 torque sent to the rear (not a panzy rear assist like the DSMs) and also had all wheel steering. These cars were really made to take a beating too.
this vid says it all... stock driveline, stock block, crank, heads, etc.

did the stealth happen to use mitsubishi engine ? 3.0 v6 ?

the mitsubishi 3000gt and stealth are the same exact car with a different body. the stealth was actually %100 manufactured by mitsubishi in japan. thats there the 3/s teminology comes from.

the one they put in the turbo cars is 4 bolt main caps are a girdle, forged crank, 24 valve dohc.
they get a bad rap about killing timing belts, but that because people don't replace them every 60k like they should and the water pump needs to be replaced at the same time.

the turbo model probly is harder on parts, but my first water pump went over 100,000. my dad was the owner of the car at the time and im sure he changed the belt at that same time. i recall him saying first fuel pump lasted to 140,000. when i got the car i wrecked it and used a cum along to straighten the front part of the frame, its still running good. something around the water pump area started dripping about 6 months ago but i just add alittle antifreeze once in a while . bob seen the car when i pulled my bike to glamis with a UHAUL trailer . i pulled 1,500lbs quit a few times with it and it did great

LOL, believe it or not there were a whole bunch off peeps I didn't stop and visit.
I was supposed to stop by Brits place, but I was driving through barstow at like 12:30am.
I feel for the poor dude I bought the car from, he bought it from a guy in san diego and it ran tits and everything worked... about half way home it develops a rod knock poor guy took a big financial hit on the car
He works and lives at some christian bible school/communion place. It was actually pretty cool because we kept having to push the car around and all these young bible school guys were walking around and theyu just put down there books without anyone even asking and started pushing. really nice bunch of people the way christians should be.
they even wanted to just push the car up the trailer, but I wanted to use the winch so I wouldn't have to worry about the car rolling over somebody.

When the transmission and 4wd junk blows up you can put in a Porsche 928 trans axle. Those things are bulletproof and will get the weight back.

the only weak spot in the driveline (for this year) is the transfer case housing, 3sx makes a SS housing. earlier years had leak issues and a weaker output shaft. the ones that leaked actually had the viscous unit in the trans lockup and all 4 wheels were locked!
