Anyone have one of the new Dodge trucks with the 6.7l cummins? I had the 5.9 and have heard a few mixed revues of the 6.7l. I am getting close to needing to go for another truck, I am going to buy new either Dodge or Chevy definatly not ford. If anyone could tell me what you think of the 6.7 let me know. Thanks.

We love our RAM!!! It yanks my 37ft toyhauler around like it ain't nothing (15K). If its gonna be a family vehicle I'd highly suggest the Megacab also, (no more kids kicking the back of the seat). The 6speed tranny and the factory exhaust brake make it really fun to drive. Keep in mind that the 6.7 will be smooged in the future if you live in a state that smogs.

my neighbor has one and loves it. Although I have heard others saying the particulate filter is a big problem.

We do live in a state with smog stuff which sucks but what are you gonna do. Is yours a manual tranny? I had a Mega Cab with the 5.9 which I sold and I kick myself every day for that brilliant move!

Chrysler sent all dealers an email about 2 months ago stating that all customer surveys from sales of the 6.7l cummins would not be counted towards the dealers average, does that tell you something

In other words, people don't like them? I have heard some pretty mixed reviews.

My 97 Ford 7.3 blows the doors off my buddies' 6.7.
It really pisses him off!
All I have is an edge evolution programmer and muffler straight piped.
He has a superchips programmer.

I would never buy a 6.7.
I am looking for a nice 5.9 mega cab though.

if I could get out of my f-150, I'd love to pickup a ford 7.3 from '00-'02 with a manual trans... thats a bullet proof truck right there.

I have had 2 97's and 1 96 with 7.3l manuals each one ripped, the worst mileage I got was 19 when I would pull my tent trailer. I have a 99 350 with the 7.3 and manual and I am ready to give the fuker away. 99 was the first year of ford intercooling the engine, it absolutly sucks ass. If I were to buy another ford, iwould only buy a 96 or 97. But I like the new dodge and chevys though. New trucks are nice. Warrantys and all. I get tired of fixing other peoples problems with used cars.

my brother just got '08 cummins with 6spd manual, he likes it alot and gets 20mph. if your a fan of the solid front axle then dodge is your truck, if you dont like the front axle then i guess you could settle with a chevy :lmao: . im not convinced any of them are really "heavy duty" like they claim but you dont have much choice unless you want gas guzzler from the 70's

ya, the funny thing is of all the trucks I've had experience the most heavy duty were half tons from the early '80. talk about tough trucks! Andy's old '85 f-150 was a tank that could not be destroyed and even more so was my '82 c10 6.2 diesel! I put 2 yards of sand and filled the bed to the very top all the way around and my old worry was the crappy C rated tires that looked like they were gonna pop! LOL.
I put 2 old MEL big block engines in the back of my f-150 and it was bouncing and swaying all over! They just don't make them like they used to :?
